Melissa
Kirdzik, owner of Eat to Live, is a registered and licensed dietitian
with offices in Middletown and Portsmouth, RI. She also works as a
therapeutic dietitian at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and Haven Health
Nursing Home.
In
2007, Melissa was the official dietitian for Shape magazine’s
2007 Weight-Loss Diary column and was instrumental in helping columnist
Dara Chadwick reach her goal weight. Melissa’s expert nutrition
advice was featured in the column each month and in Dara’s
Weight-Loss Diary blog on Shape.com. Melissa’s local media
appearances include an interview on ABC 6 news.
Melissa’s
experience also includes working as a personal trainer, as a bodybuilding
show judge and modeling for a yoga Web site. She is a member of
the American Dietitic Association (ADA) and Rhode Island Dietetic
Association (RIDA), sponsor for the RIDA 5K, and often serves as
a guest dietitian at local cooking classes and health food stores.
Melissa graduated with a BS in Nutrition, and completed her Graduate
Dietetic Internship program at the University of Rhode Island. She
is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Natural Health.
In
addition to writing her bi-weekly e-newsletter, Eat to Live, Melissa
keeps busy with competitive running. She recently finished her third
marathon and her eighth half-marathon. Melissa now writes for "Ask
